Corky was born in Joplin on August 8, 1938 to the union of Otto Christian Schwartz and Laurena Schwartz. He attended St. Peter's High School, graduating with the Class of 1955. Charles Eugene Kelley of Galena passed from this life on June 12, 2021 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, he was 83. Norma was a surprise baby, but not a surprise to her mother, Nellie.

Bessie Ellen Campbell Bilodeau Vanhooser was a loyal wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She departed this life on September 9, 2021, at age 76. Herb was born August 21, 1925 to Harold and Katherine Rawlins.

Mr. Murdock passed away in 1975 and at the time the business was operated by Mrs. Murdock and her two sons, Larry and Gene Murdock. In June of 1978, the Murdock family took over the Jorden Funeral operation, this joined two of the older funeral homes in the state. The firm name was now known as the Jorden-Murdock Funeral Home, and evolved to become Murdock Funeral Homes of Columbus and Oswego.

(There are two sisters sandwiched between them in age.) But it was in 1972 that John acquired his professional licenses and Jerry followed suit in 1974. O’s son, Roy L. Derfelt joined the firm as Funeral Director and Embalmer.
